Jennifer Rios

Hello, My name is Jennifer Rios, and I am a Ballroom Dancer.

I first became interested in ballroom dancing while watching "Dancing With the Stars". I never miss an episode. After the second season of the show, I really pushed my mom to research where I could take lessons and found that the Arthur Murray Studio here taught children.

I love the costumes and the elegance of ballroom dancing. I hope to someday become a professional ballroom dancer and instructor. I would love the opportunity to dance in movies and play productions as well. I watch over and over, all the movies with dancing in them, and try to pick up on different steps to add to the routines my coach and I are working on.

My hobbies include dancing (all the time), helping take care of my family's animals since we live on a farm. We have large and miniature horses, mules, donkeys and cows. I enjoy riding my bike and horses, swimming and playing with our dogs and cats. I have fish and help with those too. I enjoy drawing and would like to become good enough to design clothing for myself, maybe even my own costumes for dancing. I am always trying new looks with extra material my grandmother gives me. My favorite colors are turquoise and blue (right now).

I  performed a Quickstep solo last year at the showcase competition and am planning to to add more in future events.

 It is a fun dance that has fancy footwork and fast paced action. I really enjoy it. Some of my other favorites are Waltz, Samba and Swing   My Ballroom partners are Charles and  Robert.
